There is a cliche<\/p>\n

that would be easy to say:<\/p>\n

Reading is an adventure.<\/p>\n

But it’s so much more<\/p>\n

than a park tour<\/p>\n

or a fictional lecture.<\/p>\n

It’s swimming, it’s baseball,<\/p>\n

it’s an old oak, 30 feet tall<\/p>\n

that no one intends to cut down.<\/p>\n

It’s an orange feather,<\/p>\n

it’s curl-up blanket weather,<\/p>\n

it’s New York City downtown.<\/p>\n

Reading is broken chalk,<\/p>\n

a midnight walk,<\/p>\n

and a pair of sole-worn shoes,<\/p>\n

left over chip cheese dust,<\/p>\n

forgotten pizza crust–<\/p>\n

a red alto sax playing the blues.<\/p>\n

Reading is everything<\/p>\n

all hooked on a string<\/p>\n

that is incredibly strong.<\/p>\n

Reading is never clean<\/p>\n

and if you think you know what\u00a0reading<\/em> means,<\/p>\n
