The clouds were like continents,<\/p>\n
trying to learn their constants,<\/p>\n
floating across the sky for compliments,<\/p>\n
and receiving them all the same.<\/p>\n
There was never war<\/p>\n
over a single star<\/p>\n
because they could stray so far<\/p>\n
as to be too far away.<\/p>\n
But they slowly found that the longer they were there<\/p>\n
the longer they realized their lives weren’t fair<\/p>\n
and even the clouds began to cry.<\/p>\n
But before we could realize what was wrong<\/p>\n
we had already spent far too long<\/p>\n
wonder about our lives, wondering why.<\/p>\n
Wondering why we are here, what is our meaning,<\/p>\n
wondering about that Pisa that’s always leaning,<\/p>\n
before we knew that it was all for naught,<\/p>\n
all those astronauts<\/p>\n
haven’t found what they’ve sought;<\/p>\n
because in space there’s no air out there,<\/p>\n
and the same goes for the atmosphere,<\/p>\n
so as the continental clouds float past,<\/p>\n
