Is a hotdog a sandwich?<\/span><\/p>\n

Now. without the intention<\/span><\/p>\n

Of starting WW3,<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s just see the arguments.<\/span><\/p>\n

For starters, what makes a sandwich<\/span><\/p>\n

A sandwich?<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve heard every kind of pitch,<\/span><\/p>\n

But the general idea is this:<\/span><\/p>\n

Something between two slices of bread.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a filling that keeps you fed,<\/span><\/p>\n

But by that logic:<\/span><\/p>\n

Subway doesn\u2019t sell sandwiches.<\/span><\/p>\n

They may have an array of cheeses,<\/span><\/p>\n

But their bread does not come in two pieces.<\/span><\/p>\n

And think about the humble meatball sub, <\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing but innocent, italian grub,<\/span><\/p>\n

Stripped of its sandwich title.<\/span><\/p>\n

But was it entitled to that in the first place?<\/span><\/p>\n

Now let\u2019s look at this coin\u2019s other face:<\/span><\/p>\n

A hotdog isn\u2019t a sandwich because<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a piece of bread with a topping.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, then how come when you go shopping,<\/span><\/p>\n

The pizzas aren\u2019t in the hotdog isle?<\/span><\/p>\n

You can\u2019t be in denial that both <\/span><\/p>\n

a hotdog and a pizza<\/span><\/p>\n

Are breads with spreads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regardless, there\u2019s a difference<\/span><\/p>\n

Between a <\/span>hotdog<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

And a hotdog <\/span>sandwich<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to see a guy pitch<\/span><\/p>\n

A sandwich place that sells hotdogs.<\/span><\/p>\n

But if you\u2019re still on the fence,<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s one last defense:<\/span><\/p>\n

What if this argument doesn\u2019t matter?<\/span><\/p>\n

Because after all, we\u2019re all just matter<\/span><\/p>\n

Trying to matter<\/span><\/p>\n

Without being scattered uselessly all over the place.<\/span><\/p>\n

So maybe this is just our way to say:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I\u2019m part of the human race,<\/span><\/p>\n

With opinions and also a face,<\/span><\/p>\n

And I\u2019m trying to categorize everything I see,<\/span><\/p>\n

While facing immense scrutiny.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And I guess that\u2019s the beauty<\/span><\/p>\n

Of us humans who try to justify<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything we come by<\/span><\/p>\n

In an attempt to try<\/span><\/p>\n

And make sense of this<\/span><\/p>\n

one wild and precious life.<\/span><\/p>\n

But sometimes there are categories <\/span><\/p>\n

where things just don\u2019t fit.<\/span><\/p>\n

But if a hotdog isn\u2019t a sandwich,<\/span><\/p>\n
